You, dear reader, may know Wil Wheaton from some of his most beloved roles: Gordie Lachance, Wesley Crusher, Evil Wil Wheaton, or even that brooding, returned-from-the dead, eladrin avenger we all love, Aeofel “rolls-19s-a-lot-but-still-succumbs-to-the-acid-pit” Elhromane. You may also know that Wil hosts a very fun show over on Geek & Sundry’s YouTube channel called Tabletop, which is, unsurprisingly, about tabletop gaming.
April 5th, 2014 is International Tabletop Day, a day to get together with friends IN REAL LIFE and play board, card, miniature, and other games with them. The game stores in London (ON) have come together to make the day even more awesome by offering people not only venues to play games, but also chances to win FABULOUS PRIZES. Part of this is a lovely map/contest card, designed by Chris McInnis of Uber Cool Stuff* (122 Dundas Street/123 Carling Street), which allows one to travel from store to store, collect stickers, and have a chance at winning big (in a material sense, rather than just an “experience a moment of self-satisfaction” sense).
Carol Vandenberg of L. A. Mood Comics & Games was kind enough to suggest I might be of assistance in providing some illustrations for the map/contest card. Over the course of the next few days leading up to the big event, I will be sharing the pencils I sent Chris’s way. First up is the big double-W himself, in all his bearded glory, as seen above. Thank you very much, Chris and Carol, for involving me in this great project!
